CATBALOGAN CITY, Samar – The Samar Island Institute of Medicine (SIIM) held a ceremonial distribution of medicine books to its medical students, marking the second consecutive year of providing free academic materials.

The initiative reflects the university’s strong commitment to accessible and quality education, ensuring that future doctors of Samar have the necessary resources to excel in their studies. Present during the event were SSU President Dr. Redentor S. Palencia, SIIM Dean Dr. Noel Espallardo, and selected SIIM faculty members, who personally witnessed the turnover of the books and reaffirmed the administration’s support for SIIM students.

The book distribution is part of SSU’s continuing efforts to ease the financial burden of medical education, while strengthening its role as a leading institution in advancing healthcare education in the region.
